Some background about me . . .

I love designing.  Always have. It's the details .... all the details involved in creating a

space that is personal, a space that reflects my clients' style.

It's all about them, because it is designed for them.  

 

A graduate of Interior Design in the late 80's, my career began at a design

firm in the heart of downtown Montreal specializing in office and retail spaces.

Over the next few years, drafting, design, space planning, sourcing products, and

project management were some of the skills I honed as an interior designer. After

working for another firm specializing in large brokerage houses with offices across

Canada, I tried the flip side of design ....

 

I became a representative for Kravet Fabrics and eventually manager for the

Montreal Showroom expanding my knowledge of textiles and working directly with

other designers and then with a custom furniture manufacturer. There I had the

opportunity to work with clients in a showroom, to create custom upholstered

furniture....to create individual, unique pieces that reflected their taste,

style and budget.

 

After moving to California and starting a family, a new opportunity arose in 2007....

Toronto. Here, from my studio, I created Elena Design + Interiors  so that I could

work one on one with clients. I am an Accredited Member Decorators and Designers Association of Canada (DDA Canada) and continue to expand my knowledge by attending workshops offered through professionals in the design/build community,

sourcing new products at trade shows and expanding my network of highly skilled tradespeople to call upon for my clients' projects.

I have recently become a Certified Aging in Place Specialist. With this training, I can assist our clients in modifying their space that allows them to stay in their homes for as long as possible.

 

From the general contractor, to the electrician, the carpenter, plumber and painter.... They are all instrumental in making any project succeed. It's all about the details ....  I strive to keep my clients' style, vision, budget and deadlines at the forefront of any project and look forward to all the details on the next project!
